    About George Anne Home

George Anne Home is a small residential care home in San Mateo, CA, with space for up to 6 residents, and it sits in a single-story building that feels like a private house, offering both shared and private living arrangements, like studios, single bedrooms, and shared quarters, all fully furnished and with private bathrooms and kitchenettes, which means folks don't have to worry about cooking, cleaning, or home maintenance. This place gives a hand with assisted living needs such as help with bathing, dressing, transferring, taking showers, managing incontinence, and even spoon-feeding if needed, with medication management, diabetes management, and active fall prevention built into daily routines, while there's 24/7 awake staffing and supervision to make sure everyone feels safe and supported no matter what time it is. The caregivers work in teams to help arrange medical appointments and provide health management, offering hospice services, memory care for dementia and Alzheimer's, respite care for short-term stays, and physical therapy, and they put together personalized care plans and regular checkups by registered nurses who keep an eye on each resident's needs. Folks get meals every day, with dining services including snacks between meals and options for special diets, including diabetic-friendly choices, plus there's housekeeping, laundry, linen service, and all utilities, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and phone access included. The home encourages staying active, with a life enrichment program, daily games like bingo and cards, computer learning classes, gardening areas, decks, a library, a reading section, a beauty and barber shop, a game room, and a community kitchen where people can gather. Pets are allowed, and there's on-site parking for visitors. Transportation gets arranged for doctor visits and other appointments, so residents don't have to figure that out alone. Families can receive counseling and support, and there's concierge help for daily needs. George Anne Home keeps a quiet, steady routine aimed at providing comfort, safety, and respect for each person's preferences, with a focus on giving dignified care that fits each individual, and as a result, residents can stay as independent as possible while knowing care is always at hand whenever they need it.

    21 Dec 2023
Found the allegations unfounded; before 9/14/23, the POA for health care visited the resident five days a week with long visits and meals, while after 9/14/23 visits were up to 30 minutes and only once or twice weekly, and she was never forbidden to visit. No residents were forced to go to bed earlier than they wished, and staff helped those who wanted to sleep early while others could sleep as they chose.
    21 Dec 2023
Interviews and records review determined that the allegations were unfounded. Visiting frequency and duration prior to a certain date were different from after that date. No complaints of residents being forced to go to bed early. Residents are assisted if needed but free to sleep as desired.
    17 Jul 2023

    17 Jul 2023
Reviewed client records and conducted staff interviews to investigate allegations of mistreatment and medication errors. Insufficient evidence to prove or disprove rough handling or improper feeding of a resident, but substantiated unauthorized filming and sharing of resident behavior.
