    Excellent attentive care, needs activities

I'm grateful for the excellent, attentive care here - staff are wonderful and cheerful, caregivers sweet, the home immaculate, well-equipped, and meals are great. Pandemic-era safety precautions were impeccable. My only real concern is that residents sit too much; the place needs more activities and exercise classes. Note there are limited openings.

About Golden Years Assisted Living, Inc.

Golden Years Assisted Living, Inc. runs a set of senior care homes in Orange County, with a main location in Yorba Linda, California, and is licensed by the California Department of Social Services Community Care Licensing Division under license #306004652, with beds for elderly residents who need help with daily life. They're what folks call a residential care facility for the elderly and they've got a long history since 2002 with a team led by a President/CEO and an RCFE Administrator, along with dedicated caregivers like Stacey Stevenson. They work closely with another facility known as ORANGEWOOD GUEST HOME for their programs and support. The place serves seniors who need different levels of care, such as independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, and continuing care, and residents can move into suites or shared rooms with private baths, wheelchair access, and even keep their small dog or cat if they have one.

The homes in the Golden Years Assisted Living group are built for seniors who want a safe, social place with both indoor and outdoor common areas to relax, visit, or join group meals. They offer three locations around Orange County, each one focusing on safety and comfort for older adults, including those with Alzheimer's, dementia, and higher care needs. The team provides care 24 hours a day and can help with bathing, medication, dressing, transfers, managing diabetes, incontinence, and other non-ambulatory needs. There's a strong memory care program, with activities and secure areas that make it hard for folks with dementia to wander off, and they try to help residents stay active and keep their minds working.

People living here get a mix of homemade meals, including vegetarian, kosher, and diabetic-friendly options, all served in community dining rooms. The staff handles laundry, housekeeping, and can coordinate move-ins to help folks settle, and they'll also set up rides to doctor visits, but that might cost extra. They have a variety of social, devotional, and group activities every day, so residents can join what interests them, from crafts or walking, to church services or offsite trips when possible. The facility offers home care options too, so trained aides can visit for companionship or non-medical help if a resident decides to stay at home for a while.

Healthcare support is a main feature here, so nurses and caregivers keep an eye on each resident, working with doctors and outside providers as needed for medication, wound care, skilled nursing, or hospice. The home welcomes short-term stays for respite care as well, in case caregivers at home need a break. Residents can use community spaces, have access to a beautician, and park if they still drive. Golden Years Assisted Living, Inc. aims to help seniors live as independently as they can while making sure help's always close by, and folks who like having a bit of company, a steady routine, and support with health or memory problems usually find it suits their needs.
