    Pleasant grounds but terrible management

    I live in this gated, age-restricted community - the grounds, pool and neighbors are pleasant and well kept, but the office/HOA customer service is awful and unresponsive. We've had pigeon infestations and droppings, recurring water outages and maintenance issues (including blocked/handicap parking) left unresolved for months. Between car-theft concerns, a frightening neighbor situation and constant motorcycle/air-traffic noise, I'm actively looking to move out and can't recommend renting here.

The condos themselves are set up with open floor plans, so there's a big living room, and you'll find new ceramic tile in the main areas and fresh plush carpet in the bedrooms which all just got new paint and blinds, and there's always ceiling fans going in every bedroom and in the dining area which keeps you cool, with a brand-new AC unit taking the brunt of the heat during the hot months, and if you like eating in the kitchen you'll notice the granite counters, stainless steel appliances, a breakfast bar, and a tall pantry for plenty of storage, not to mention the in-unit laundry that sits behind folding doors in the hall, so you don't have to go outside just to wash your clothes, and you've even got a security screen door and a covered, assigned carport so your car's not roasting in the sun. The condos come in a two-bedroom, two-bath layout, usually around 1,015 to 1,200 square feet, with both bedrooms placed on opposite sides for privacy, each with its own bath, so there's no fussing over space, and the primary bedroom's got a walk-in closet too, plus both baths show off some decent tile work. There's also a screened-in patio or balcony off the living room, so you can sit out and overlook the pool or just enjoy some quiet without traffic noise, and since it's all frame-and-stucco construction with a tile roof, things hold up pretty well against the desert sun. Parked out back or to the side is a covered carport with one guaranteed spot, and there's guest parking when family or friends come by, though you can't have anybody under 18 living here as the rules say. The community covers things like property management, grounds keeping, and the HOA takes care of water, trash, clubhouse, and pool access, with utilities like cable and underground power, public water and sewer connections, so you don't have to mess with many bills. People with pets get some freedom since there's a pet policy allowing them-most folks here have small dogs or cats-plus it's got a lively but secure feel with no fencing so the lots stay open, and the community's approved for FHA financing, which helps if you're looking to buy. The homes are resale and part of a well-kept neighborhood, and you get amenities like clubhouse activities and a pool to swim in or sit by, and thanks to a monthly HOA fee, the shared spaces stay tidy and in good repair.
